Cloud Nine?

Eyes locked into one another
Stares that could never be broken
Hands gripped in sweaty embrace
Body movement the only thing spoken
Promises of forever
Wrapped tightly in sweet nothings
Words lost in heartbeat
While still being meaningful somethings
Floating along in bliss
On the cloud number nine
No thought to the hardships
That follow not far behind
Notes passed back and forth
their messages one and the same
Conversations about one soul
Hearts outlining each others name
Could this be the love
To justify all other taken chances
It just seemed so right
Until caught was stolen glances
At first no second thought
Came anywhere near your mind
It had no affect
You were still happy all the time
You still loved her cute imperfections
But your mind started to drift
Why settle for imperfect
When you can trade the present for a better gift
Your fantasies grew
While reality began to deteriorate
Sweaty embrace no longer held
Belief that it was no longer fate
Deep stares had been broken
Forever had come to an end
You were just fine on cloud nine
Until you were tempted by ten


Why when we are happy, truly happy, do we keep being greedy? We always search for something better and often take for granted the happiness that we already have. We all believe that we deserve better even if we have the best. The people that are tuly happy all the time have come to terms that what they have is the best, the person they love loves them back, they know that as bad as life seems sometimes it can be worse so they should be happy for what they have. To quote a great man: "Don't worry. Be happy!"
